Greyson Michael Chance Stuns All With His Talent

Celebrity News: Greyson Chance Singing Paparazzi

It's the curious case of American popstars: as time goes on they get younger and younger, and we the public completely lap it up. Thanks to the bane that is YouTube (what else), a new musical heavy-hitter has entered the scene to make thirteen year old girls everywhere weep and obsess to an unhealthy extent.

Equipped with some serious piano skills and a name that delightfully rolls off your tongue, Greyson Michael Chance has been bombarded with interviews and performing gigs just days after a clip of him singing Lady Gaga's 'Paparazzi' was uploaded and became an overnight sensation. Though he bears similar qualities (and haircut) to another certain teenage mop-topped heartthrob, he does come out on top with his arguably better vocal range, and something The Biebs can never boast: Greyson Michael Chance is only twelve years old!

A native of Edmond, Oklahoma, Chance attends a local middle school where he perfects his sugary sweet, non-threatening persona with choir class and his 'Student of the Month' award from last October. The buzz started during a district-wide talent show - coincidentally packed with young girls who essentially drooled the entire time - when one audience member had the smarts to take a video of his performance. According to Popeater, his music teacher, Kelly Cheek, rightfully acknowledges his musical affinity: "I have never seen anyone with his level or type of talent." Talent which has wrangled him a spot on The Ellen DeGeneres show, which will air Thursday. With Ellen also currently an Idol judge, there's no telling how huge an impact this move will be for little Greyson.

Though he has just the right look to make girls swoon and their mothers coo, Chance's other videos of original songs on his YouTube account are surprisingly heavy, and definitely not your average twelve year old pop tune where the word "baby" is dropped forty times. Chance sings a melancholy tune of death, and as for "Broken Hearts",... you can kind of guess.
