Oklahoma's latest batch of tornadoes tore across the Southern Plains and into the Oklahoma City region killing five and causing millions of dollars worth of damage to property and vehicles.
The New York Times said that two people had been killed in Oklahoma City and three more in Cleveland County which lies to the south. There are reports of another fifty eight injuries, two of which are critical.
Winds of up to 103 mph spiralled across the plains ripping apart house, turning over vehicles and mobile homes and bringing down power lines. The tornadoes brought hailstones measuring four inches across, wind and lightning.
Weather men predict more of the same and while some areas are clearing up the damage, others are bracing themselves for a tornado touchdown in their neighborhoods.
