It's Emmy time again, and certain shows and actors are getting their yearly nod. 30 Rock, Mad Men, and Fox's hit comedy Glee are all familiar, multiple honorees. Leading the pack though is HBO's morose mini-series, The Pacific, with 24 in total. The 62nd Emmy Awards take place on August 29th in Los Angeles, with the broadcast airing live on NBC. Jimmy Fallon of Late Night is set to host.

Fan favorite Glee scored 19 nods including those for its stars Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison, and threatens 30 Rock's three year Emmy run in the “Best Comedy category.” The hugely popular ABC hit Lost got a sweet parting gift in the form of an “Outstanding Drama” nod and three of its actors making it into the “Outstanding Actor In A Drama” list. While series such as Curb Your Enthusiasm and True Blood are a staple to any Emmy season, newcomers such as Modern Family, The Good Wife and Breaking Bad also made quite an impression on the nomination committee.

Being cancelled and humiliated seemingly the best thing to happen to him, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has not forgotten Conan O'Brien either. In a satisfying show of sweet revenge, The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien got a huge nod in the category of “Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series.” Jay Leno got no mention at all.

The Emmy nominations took place this morning at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre. Joel McHale of Community and and 2010 Emmy nominee Sofía Vergara (for her role in Modern Family) were present to announce the major nominations.
